The Perfect Breakfast

How would you define the perfect breakfast? Something healthy? Something hot? With lashings of caffeine?
What about something simple that tastes nice enough to talk you out of bed in the morning?

Here’s mine. First attempted when I had just moved out of home. It was cheap and I could add chocolate chips to it. I didn’t have to wash a pan afterwards. I was hooked.

It’s evolved since then. Becoming more grown up and less of a chocolate mess…

Ingredients

Porridge Oats 
Milk
Honey
Lemon Curd
Handful of fresh strawberries
Handful of fresh blueberries
Sunflowers Seeds
Pumpkin Seeds
Mixed Nuts
Natural Yoghurt

Method

Make up one bowl of porridge as per instructions on the packet. My go to brand are flahavans, and my favourite variety is the one in the long red tube. 

I’ve tried a number of different porridges and this one is the creamiest by far, it also has no added anything. It’s simply rolled oats in a tube. 
I make it entirely with milk, for extra creaminess. 
Once it is out of the microwave/sauce pan (though microwave is so much handier) add a tbsp of honey and a tbsp of lemon curd. 

Mix well, they both should melt into the porridge. 
Wash the blueberries and strawberries and add to the bowl. 
Top with nuts and seeds. 
Finish with one tbsp of natural yoghurt. 

Serve with juice and coffee 

Rough Calorie Count: About 450 kcal (not including the juice)
